Spain became the 99th member of ISA by handing over its Instrument of Ratification to ISA's Head of Depository. The International Solar Alliance (ISA) is a global organization aiming to implement the Paris Climate Agreement through solar energy deployment.

Spain's Membership

Spain officially became the 99th member of ISA by handing over its Instrument of Ratification to ISA's Head of Depository.
Spain's Ambassador to India, José María Ridao Domínguez, handed over the document to MEA's Joint Secretary Abhishek Singh.
This development was confirmed by MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal.

International Solar Alliance (ISA)

ISA aims to implement the Paris Climate Agreement through solar energy deployment.
It serves as a platform for member countries to increase solar tech use, enhance energy access, ensure security, and drive the global energy transition.
Currently, 116 countries are signatories, with 94 having ratified the agreement before Spain.

Conceived by India and France during COP21 in Paris.
Aims to mobilize countries to use solar energy to counter global warming and climate change.
Seeks commitments from organizations and the private sector for affordable finance for solar projects.
Held its 6th Assembly in New Delhi in October-November 2023.
