Sankalp Initiative and Drug Rehabilitation Efforts

• Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu launched 'Sankalp' initiative on October 6, 2024
• Aim: To tackle drug trafficking and support rehabilitation of addicts

• • State-level model de-addiction and rehabilitation center to be established at Kotla Barog, Sirmaur district
  • Center will assist in de-addiction and reintegration into society
  • Strict instructions given for action against drug traffickers
  • Several arrests made in the past month
  • Focus on protecting youth from drug menace
• CM's vision: Help affected individuals reconnect with families and reintegrate into society
• Organized by Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan in Shimla
• CM praised the organization's efforts in social welfare in India and abroad

Education and Welfare Initiatives

• Center of Excellence under construction at Kandaghat, Solan district

Purpose: Provide higher education to 9,000 specially-abled children

• Free education provided to 23,000 children of widows and single women
• Ekal Nari scheme implemented for welfare of widows and single women
• Scheme underway to ensure welfare of the elderly
• 'Mukhyamantri Bal Paushtik Aahar Yojana' launched in August 2024
  • Aim: Provide nutritious food to schoolchildren
• Free tablets provided to primary school teachers
  • Purpose: Boost digitalization in state educational and administrative system

Environmental and Development Goals

• Aim to make Himachal Pradesh a Green Energy State by March 31, 2026
• Green hydrogen plant with 1 megawatt capacity being set up in Nalagarh
  • Expected to be operational by July 2025
• CM wrote to Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw
  • Urged to run Kalka-Shimla train on green hydrogen
