ICICI Lombard and PhonePe Introduce Maha Kumbh Mela Insurance

In order to provide travelers attending the Maha Kumbh Mela with reasonably priced insurance plans that cover medical costs, personal accidents, and other things, PhonePe has partnered with ICICI Lombard. Plans are available from January 13 to February 26, 2025, with prices starting at ₹59 for bus/train passengers and ₹99 for flight passengers.

PhonePe and ICICI Lombard General Insurance have teamed up to provide attendees with specialized insurance coverage in advance of the Maha Kumbh Mela, which is set to take place in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, from January 13 to February 26, 2025. The goal of this project is to offer millions of devotees taking part in this important spiritual event complete and reasonably priced protection.

Details of the Insurance Plan and Available Coverages

  • Bus or Train Passengers: ₹59 each
  • Travelers on domestic flights: ₹99 each

The period of coverage is January 13–February 26, 2025.

Included in the Coverage

  • Hospital stay: up to 50,000 naira
  • Department of Outpatient Care (OPD) Therapy: Up to 1,500 naira
  • Up to ₹1 lakh is covered for personal accidents, which includes death and permanent total disability.
  • Cancellation of Trip: Up to ₹5,000
  • Remains Repatriation: Up to ₹10,000
  • Loss of checked baggage: up to ₹5,000 (for passengers on domestic flights)
  • Up to ₹5,000 for passengers on domestic flights for missing a connecting flight

How the Insurance Is Obtained

  1. Go to the "Insurance" section of the PhonePe app after opening it.
  2. Choose the "Maha Kumbh" insurance option.
  3. After reviewing the product details, select "Buy now."
  4. Enter your traveler's information and select the plan according to your mode of transportation.
  5. To activate the coverage, finish the payment process.

This insurance plan is available for purchase until February 25, 2025, ensuring coverage throughout the duration of the Maha Kumbh Mela.
