Ladakh's 9th Zanskar Festival 2024: Tradition Meets Vision

The Zanskar Festival, the first since the district was granted district status, took place in Sani, Zanskar sub-division. The event featured cultural showcases and performances from various Zanskar tribes, as well as renowned bands and artists.

Festival Inauguration and Significance

Development Initiatives and Vision

LG emphasized the need for overall development, particularly in education and healthcare
Vision to enable Ladakhi youth to become job providers rather than job-seekers
Initiative to reduce mortality rate of pashmina goat kids:
- 1,000 kid pens distributed to beneficiaries in Changthang area
- 300 more to be distributed soon
Encouragement for Zanskar women to become "Lakhpati Didis" for economic self-reliance
