Festival Inauguration and Significance

• Inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) and First Lady Neelam Mishra
• First celebration since Zanskar was granted district status
• Two-day event held in Sani, Zanskar sub-division
• Commendation for organizers and participants from across Ladakh
• Gratitude expressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for new district status

Cultural Showcases and Performances

• Traditional ethnic cultural troupes displayed unique winter-resistant costumes
• Performances by groups from various Zanskar regions
• Participation from Purgi tribes (Kargil), Sheena (Drass), Dard-Aryan (Aryan Valley), and Changpa Tribe (Changthang)
• Cultural troupes from Himachal Pradesh's Lahaul, Spiti, and Kinnaur also performed

Development Initiatives and Vision

• LG emphasized the need for overall development, particularly in education and healthcare
• Vision to enable Ladakhi youth to become job providers rather than job-seekers
• Initiative to reduce mortality rate of pashmina goat kids:
  • 1,000 kid pens distributed to beneficiaries in Changthang area
  • 300 more to be distributed soon
• Encouragement for Zanskar women to become "Lakhpati Didis" for economic self-reliance
• Support for traditional folk artists, handloom weavers, and handicraft artisans
