Aggarwal will serve in this role for four years from the date he takes charge or until further instructions, whichever comes first.

  • Controversy: In June 2024, following the Kallakurichi hooch tragedy, which claimed over 60 lives, Aggarwal, who was then the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for the Enforcement Bureau, was transferred. He had previously overseen the Enforcement Bureau during a similar incident in 2023, where 22 people died from consuming counterfeit liquor in Marakkanam and Chengalpattu.
