Sai Paranjpye to be Honored with Padmapani Lifetime Achievement Award at AIFF 2025

Veteran filmmaker and writer Sai Paranjpye will receive the prestigious Padmapani Lifetime Achievement Award at the Ajanta-Ellora International Film Festival (AIFF) 2025. Widely admired for her evocative slice-of-life films such as Sparsh, Chashme Buddoor, Katha, and Saaz, Paranjpye is celebrated as a key figure in India’s parallel cinema movement that gained prominence in the 1970s and 1980s. This award recognizes her immense contributions to Indian cinema and Marathi literature

The 10th edition of AIFF will be held in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar from January 15 to 19, 2025. During the opening ceremony on January 15, Paranjpye will be conferred with the Padmapani Lifetime Achievement Award at the Rukmini Auditorium of MGM University Campus.
