India attended the nine-nation “Moscow Format” meeting, in the Russian city of Kazan.
The meet was attended by Russia, India, China, Iran, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey were invited guests at the event.
The Moscow format:
A dialogue platform started to attain reconciliation in Afghanistan where the Taliban clashed against the U.S.-supported government of President Ashraf Ghani.
It consisted of 6 member countries that includes Russia, Afghanistan, China, Pakistan, Iran and India.
‘Kazan Declaration’ was issued at the end of the meet:
It called upon current Afghan authorities to create conditions to improve the well-being of the Afghan people, prevent further migration, and enable the return of refugees
Take effective measures to dismantle, eliminate, and prevent the presence of any terrorist groups within Afghanistan.
Maintain a genuine and effective anti-drug policy.
