CDS Eligibility Criteria

Nationality:

- Applicants must be citizens of India in order to be considered for the CDS Position.

- A Nepal, Bhutan and Tibetan refugees who arrived in India prior to January 1, 1962.

- People who left their home countries – Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Kenya, UgaCDS, and the United Republic of Tanzania, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Malawi to live permanently in India.

Qualification:

For the Indian Military Academy- Recognized university graduation degree in any subject is required, or an equivalent.

For admission to the Indian Naval Academy- A candidate must have obtained their engineering degree from a recognized university or institution.

For admission to the Air Force Academy - A candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in engineering as well physics, Chemistry and mathematics at the 10+2 level.

Age Limit: (as on 01 January 2025)

For Indian Military Academy - Only unmarried male candidates who were born between January 2, 2001, and January 1, 2006, are eligible.

For Indian Naval Academy - Only unmarried male candidates born between January 2, 2001, and January 1, 2006, are eligible to apply.

For Air Force Academy - Married or Unmarried male can apply, the age should be 20 to 24 years as of January 1, 2025, meaning they were born between January 2, 2001, and January 1, 2005. The age limit for the candidate is between 20 to 24 years.

How to apply & Fill the Online Application Form

  • Visit the UPSC direct application link click here - https://upsconline.nic.in/upsc/OTRP/ Eligible candidates may apply online through the website between 20/12/2023 up to 09/01/2024.
  • Then click on “New Registration” and fill basic details like your name, birth date, gender, father’s name, mother’s name, minority status, mobile number, email id (for login, alternate email, class 10th examination roll number and security question/answer. After that you will get password.
  • Log in to your account using your email address and password, then complete your form by filling personal information, educational background, and academy/branch preference according to your choice.
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive information when filling out the online application. Make sure the details you provide about your contact information, personal information, and educational background are accurate.
  • You have to attach scanned copies of your signature, photo, and any other documents that are needed. Please make sure that the uploaded document has the correct size and format.
  • Using the given online payment gateway, pay the application fee through the debit/credit or net banking. Verify the accuracy of the information provided in the application form before submitting it in its final form.
  • Submit the application form after completing all the necessary fields and paying the application fee. You might get an email or message of confirmation after submitting.
  • For your records, print off the completed application form. This might be necessary for reference in the future.
