India's position in the 2025 Henley Passport Index

India dropped from 80th place in 2024 to 85th place in the 2025 Henley Passport Index. The index rates passport mobility worldwide and is based on IATA data. Singapore is still at the top, and Japan, which was at the top from 2018 to 2023, is now in second place.

India is now ranked 85th in the 2025 Henley Passport Index, five spots lower than its 2024 ranking of 80th. The index is a widely used instrument for evaluating passport mobility and is based on data from the International Air Transport Authority (IATA). For the second year in a row, Singapore is at the top, while Japan, which was at the top from 2018 to 2023, is in second place.
