Inauguration of Indian Navy's New Headquarter Nausena Bhawan

The Indian Navy inaugurated its new headquarters, 'Nausena Bhawan,' in Delhi Cantt on March 15, 2024. The building, designed by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, combines functionality and aesthetic appeal, incorporating innovative construction technologies.

The Indian Navy marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its new state-of-the-art headquarters, 'Nausena Bhawan,' by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on March 15, 2024, in Delhi Cantt. This cutting-edge complex is designed to provide a modern and effcient workspace while prioritizing security, sustainability, and technological integration.

Architectural Design and Construction:

The architectural design of Nausena Bhawan was selected through an all-India competition, ensuring a perfect blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal. The building comprises three wings across four levels, incorporating innovative construction technologies to optimize efficiency and sustainability.

One of the notable features is the Hybrid Reinforced Cement Concrete Construction system, which enables the construction of large spans with maximum speed. The design also emphasizes the integration of natural elements through landscaped gardens and internal courtyards, creating a harmonious and rejuvenating environment for the occupants.

Interior and Amenities

Internally, Nausena Bhawan boasts a comfortable atmosphere facilitated by a Central Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning system using Advanced Oxidation Plasma technology. This system ensures optimal indoor air quality and thermal comfort for the occupants.

The building is equipped with a state-of-the-art Integrated Building Management System, which enables efficient coordination and monitoring of security services and utility systems. This advanced technology enhances overall operational efficiency and resource management.

Energy and Water Conservation:

Nausena Bhawan reflects the Indian Navy's commitment to sustainable practices and environmental responsibility. The complex is equipped with solar generation systems and incorporates advanced building materials to promote energy and water conservation.

Green Rating and Habitability:

The building has achieved a Green Rating IV under the Integrated Habitability Assessment, underscoring its commitment to sustainable practices. This rating system evaluates buildings based on their environmental impact, energy efficiency, and overall habitability.

Security System:

Security is a top priority at Nausena Bhawan, with a comprehensive three-tier security system in place. This system includes automatic underbelly scanning of vehicles, power fences, face recognition cameras, bollards, vehicle stoppers, access control, and security cameras. These state-of-the-art measures ensure the safety and security of personnel and assets within the complex.

IT Infrastructure and Paperless Environment:

In line with modern office practices, Nausena Bhawan is equipped with extensive IT infrastructure supported by Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems. This infrastructure promotes a paperless work environment and meets the stringent network requirements of the Indian Navy, enabling seamless communication and data exchange.

The new headquarters represents the Indian Navy's commitment to modernization, sustainability, and technological advancement, providing a conducive environment for efficient operations and decision-making.
