Vedanta Resources Appoints Deshnee Naidoo as Its First CEO

Who is Deshnee Naidoo?

Deshnee Naidoo brings over 20 years of experience in the resources industry, working across various regions and in diverse metals and minerals sectors. This marks her return to Vedanta, having previously held senior leadership roles from 2014 to 2020, including CEO of Africa Base Metals and CEO of Vedanta Zinc International. Most recently, she served as CEO of Vale Base Metals, a company focused on nickel and copper.

Naidoo’s appointment is especially significant as Vedanta Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of VRL, is in the midst of a major restructuring. The company is demerging its operations into six separate entitiesVedanta Aluminium, Vedanta Oil & Gas, Vedanta Power, Vedanta Steel and Ferrous Materials, Vedanta Base Metals, and Vedanta Ltd.
