India achieved a record addition of 30 GW in renewable energy capacity in 2024, according to the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE). This represents a 113% increase from the 13.75 GW added in 2023, showcasing the country’s rapid shift towards clean energy. This milestone is significant as India aims to reach 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. The remarkable growth highlights India’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and building a sustainable future.

Minister’s Statement
Pralhad Joshi, Minister of New & Renewable Energy, highlighted that the increase from 13.75 GW in 2023 to 30 GW in 2024 reflects India’s commitment to a greener future. He emphasized the importance of exponential growth in clean energy to meet the ambitious 2030 target.  

Collaboration Between BHEL and ONGC
