Celebrating India National Skills Competition

IndiaSkills 2024 is the largest and most prestigious skill competition in the country, often referred to as the India National Skill Competition. This grand event is organized by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) to promote vocational training and skill-based careers among Indian youth.

From 15th to 18th May 2024, IndiaSkills 2024 competition will bring together over 900 students from 30+ states and Union Territories, along with 400+ industry experts. It is more than just a national skill contest—it is a platform for young talent to showcase their expertise and prepare for global challenges like WorldSkills India.

What is IndiaSkills 2024?

IndiaSkills 2024 is a skill competition that highlights India’s youth skill challenge. It will feature 61 different skills, from traditional crafts such as textile-weaving and leather-shoemaking to modern and innovative skills like drone filmmaking and prosthetic makeup.

47 skills will be conducted onsite in New Delhi, while 14 offsite skill competitions will take place in Karnataka, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat. There will also be 9 exhibition skills like Drone Filmmaking and Prosthetics-Makeup, showcasing creativity and innovation.

Event Highlights

  • Grand Opening Ceremony: The inauguration will be held at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, New Delhi, celebrating the talent and creativity of India’s youth.

  • Diverse Participation: Competitors represent ITIs, NSTIs, polytechnics, engineering, nursing, and biotechnology institutes, making this the most inclusive India skill event to date.

  • IndiaSkills New Delhi 2024: With its focus on the skill India youth program, this event sets new benchmarks for excellence in skill training competitions.

Pathway to WorldSkills India & Global Stage

The India National Skills Competition is also the first step for participants aiming to compete in WorldSkills Lyon 2024, scheduled in France in September 2024. Winners of IndiaSkills 2024 will receive training from the best industry experts to represent India on this global skill development stage, where 1,500 competitors from 70+ countries will participate.

  1. National Credit Framework (NCF): Participants can earn credits that align with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).
